I bought and tested 12+ of the latest USB-C cables that have come out in the last year. Even with the newest cables, there was a range of different protocols between them. USB-C is such a dumpster fire.
To figure out what the best cables were, I performed charge and data speed tests, then I tested durability by bending it to the marketing specs and re-did the charge and data speeds tests. The bending took almost a month to complete.

Top 3 USB-C Cables of 2025
🥉 #3 – Anker Prime
• Claimed 300,000 bends = “100 years” of life 🤨
• Survived 330,000 bends with minimal voltage drop and stable data/charge
• Data speed is USB 2.0 (slow, outdated)
• Fastest iPhone charge: 50% in ~26.9 minutes
• Price: ~$30/meter (above $20.50 avg)
• Verdict: Solid for iPhone/iPad charging, weak for data
🥈 #2 – Mophie Charge Stream
• Rated for just 3,000 bends (did 11,000)
• Minimal fraying, great USB4 data speeds
• Small voltage drop: ~0.12V = minor impact on charge time
• Slowest of the top 3 for iPhone: 50% in ~28.4 mins
• Price: ~$34/meter (well above average)
• Verdict: Best for data, good for bags due to flexibility
🔥 #1 – Spigen ArcWire
• Marketed as “USB4 Gen3” (which doesn’t technically exist…)
• Rigid AF, not portable-friendly
• Survived 11,000 bends with minor damage
• Excellent data + charge stability
• iPhone 50% in ~27 minutes
• Price: ~$28/meter
• Verdict: Best all-rounder if you leave it on your desk

Extremely disappointed with UGREEN India’s customer support. I have tried reaching out through WhatsApp, phone calls, and email, but there has been no meaningful response. The phone number keeps playing an automated message saying they are unavailable, WhatsApp messages go unanswered, and emails receive no response. What is the point of providing multiple customer support channels if customers cannot actually reach anyone when they need help? The complete lack of communication and accountability is incredibly frustrating. I expected much better from a brand like UGREEN. Good products mean very little when the customer service experience is this poor. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in UGREEN India.
Over the years, I’ve had a number of USB cables fail, even the top rated ones. I couldn’t figure out why the expensive ones with reinforced connections conked out on me until I — finally — notice the “C” head of a cable that quit working was very slightly out of line. It suddenly dawned on me what was happening.
My wife and I sometimes used our phones and tablets while they were charging. (Not a good practice, but we did it.) Resting the phone/tablet on our stomach or lap, we often put pressure on the “C” head connected which eventually bent the connector. It apparently doesn’t take much of a bend to the connector to disable a cable, no matter how tough the rest of the cable may be. This explains why sometimes you may jiggle the connector some and it might work for awhile, just to conk-out again.
So, the best thing to do is simply not use your phone/tablet while it is charging. Putting any pressure on a connector is likely to damage it. If you absolutely have to use your device at low power, rest it on top of a table, making sure there is not any movement or pressure on the “C” head connector. I believe you’ll find your cables becoming more reliable.
What’s the AWG of Anker Prime cable?
These seems to be costlier that 22AWG laptop charger which could be durable.
Spigen cables went bu bye on Amazon.
